A couple more of Katie.

Last week, I attended a one-day lighting workshop in Albany, NY with Neil Van Newkirk, who is well known for his use of flash and lighting in general. It was a worthwhile day to refresh what I already know and pick up a few new ideas. This model Katie, was fun to work with.

This image was for a contest at the convention to celebrate the 80th year for the Vermont Professional Photographers.

Another group of prints that I entered, in all I entered six prints and received four blue ribbons and two reds. I was also honored with the award of most promising newcomer, which was a nice honor. Although I am not new to photography, I am a recent member to the Vermont Professional Photographers.

These are three images that I entered into the Print Competition at the annual convention of the Vermont Professional Photographers held this past weekend at the Equinox Hotel in Manchester. I am a board member, so some of my time was spent with set-up and take down. I enjoyed getting to know my fellow photographers and talking shop.

Another day at NEIPP was spent working with a family with three little children and only window light, these were three photos that I liked.

Again this year, I attended the NEIPP school on Cape Cod, it was a great week of learning new techniques and networking with other photographers. These three photographs are of models used for practicing in class.

It was great fun to photograph and a pleasure to meet Samantha, she has a great spirit and personality, that I think, came through in her photographs. What beautiful eyes, too.

Tristan was one of the first seniors that I photographed this season. He came with his dad and brought his four-wheeler with him for a prop. We had a good session and I thought we had some good images as a result. I didn't really get to know Tristan very well from that day, I usually ask them about the sports that they play and just try to get them to relax a little. He liked soccer and racing his four-wheeler. Sadly, the day after I dropped off his proofs to him, he passed away as a result of an accident. It really hit home that every day we have here on earth, is a precious gift to enjoy. Tristan's parents have expressed how much these photos of him, mean to his family and I thank them for giving me the opportunity to document this time in his life.
